Petrie is an IG mix….his mother was a IG/CHI and his father was a Yorkie. Petrie is 4 1/2 pounds of pure cuteness! He would best fit in a home where someone is home most of the day and no children. He is a true LAP DOG! If you are sitting, he is in your lap. Petrie is not much on socializing with other dogs, but he loves humans! He can be a bit shy at first but warms up very quickly. I picture Petrie with someone that works from home or else is retired that wants company all day long. If this sounds like you, then Petrie could be the dog you’ve been looking for! Oh and he’s a good watch dog too.

Hi, my name is Eddie! I am an energetic 8 ½ yr. old who absolutely loves all humans and most other dogs. However, I am a little uncomfortable around cats (quite truthfully they scare me a little), but I know I could get used to one. My new foster dad says I am just a “good ol’ boy”. I love to play fetch with him and he seems to get a kick out of me bringing the ball back and dropping it in his hand. I have been studying English for some time now and understand sit, down, stay, wait, bring it here. My favorite words are cookie, go for a ride, go for a walk and night night. I love my kennel to sleep in at night and for short periods during the day. My only fault, though I am house trained, is I like to mark things. My foster dad has figured out that a belly band has solved the problem. I don’t mind having to wear it as long as I get to have it off when someone is around to remind me not to mark. I am not known to bark for no reason except when I want to play. (I haven’t learned how to say “throw the ball, dad”). When I was younger, I broke my right front wrist and it never set right; so if I play too hard (or too long) I start to limp and have to be reminded to take it easy for awhile. My foster dad says I am really a great influence on my younger step-sister and claims I am helping her learn to be sociable with other people and dogs. Whenever she gets in a snoot, I just tell her to put a sock in it. I have to admit she is getting better, and we really like each other. I have pictures to prove it. I have also taught her the joys of getting to take a walk, something I really enjoy. My foster dad is a trainer for PetSmart. He tells me I am a smart fellow and am doing awesome in my school classes. Who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks.

Simon is a 12yr old male looking for a Forever Home. Simon is red with dignified white markings. Simon is a quiet boy, debarked so his talking is at a whisper. He is a perfect older gentleman that uses the doggy door or asks to go outside. Simon has a very gentle soul, he is submissive to other dogs (my foster mom makes everyone leave me alone so I’ll eat.) He has kind black eyes that make humans melt over him. He will lay wherever a human is and will sleep in his own bed or yours. He is discovering his youth in his foster home with other foster siblings. The only thing at the moment is that Simon is timid towards men at first but warm up quickly. Even though he is an older boy, Simon could truly give you the best years that he has left! Seniors Rock!!!!!!

UPDATE……All 6 of the sighthounds that TIGR took into rescue are doing well. Job, Zareen and Nijah are being fostered in San Antonio. Shiloh is being fostered in Houson and Maya and Landry are fostered here in DFW. Landry recently had surgery on his mouth to remove his warts and is recovering well….Shiloh and Maya both tested positive for Basesiosis…the other 4 did not. All tested positive for Ehrilichiosis and Anaplasmois. They all have had skin issues, but are getting better by the day and getting lots of bubble baths with oatmeal shampoos and adding fish oil to their diets. All 6 are learning how to play with toys and are loving it and they now know what loving human companionship is all about!

TIGR would like to thank everyone (near and far) who in one way or another has come to the aid of these wonder dogs. From cash donations, medications, dog beds, care packages, thoughts and prayers….thank you!

She is being fostered with large and small dogs and seems to be doing well, but we don’t know if she is cat safe at the moment. She is crated trained and has had no accidents in the house.
Tiny….Tiny Romo is the name, and like my namesake I am a real handsome fellow….or at least that is what my foster mom thinks. I’ve been with my foster family since the first of May and we have been working hard at building my confidence…..I can still get a bit panicky in situations that I am unsure of.
I have gotten along great with my foster IG family; there are 3 to snuggle with. The only member I do not care for is the C.A.T., so my new family probably should not have one!!! I will say my foster family is working with me to like him, but I’m still not sure about the whole idea.
We have gone on a few walks, and I’ve done pretty well, but I still get frightened when a person walks towards me or a bike goes by. We have also gone to the dog park once and I did just fine there.
One thing I should let everyone know is that I can jump 4 foot fences, so my new family needs to have at least a 6 ft. fence. I’m trying real hard to be a well adjusted IG! I would love to have a forever family to love me or perhaps a yound lady….I do love the ladies! I think another IG or a family dog is a must to keep my company. I love to sleep with my foster family and hope to do that with my new family. I hope my new family will be very patient with me, be gentle and love me bunches! I am a wonderful boy with a lot of love to give!

This is Jack! He is being fostered in Arizona. He’s loving, sweet and loves attention, acting more like a big happy lab than an Iggy! His tail has not stopped wagging since he arrived. He will make an amazing companion. He is neutered and had a dental and lost some small teeth. He has a lovely white & red coat which is very soft! He loves the other dogs, and would probably be happiest with another mellow dog as a companion, but would be a happy “only dog” too if his person was around to spend lots of time with him. He LOVES riding in the car. Jack is completely housetrained and does well with a doggie door! Jack is ready to go to his new family and new life! .
Ollie is a Italian Greyhound mix aprox. 2 years old. He was left behind with a neighbor when the owner moved away and would not take him along. Ollie is full of fun and energy and will make a great companion on long walks. He is house trained and great with kids, cats, dogs large and small. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please contact www.takemehomepetrescue.com or by phone at 214-908-0074 for more information about Ollie.

Joey came into rescue through no fault of his own after his owners had no time for him. What we have here is your basic spirit filled, loving and playful IG. Once you meet him you will find it difficult to believe he’s 9 years old. He is a handsome cuddly lap hog. Generally, he moves quickly or happily bounces from place to place. His former home had a pet door and he really misses that. He is slowly learning to communicate his need to go outside but hasn’t quite got it yet. Joey has picked up on our daily routine quickly and easily. He loves sitting on the couch with us. He walks well on leash and is beginning to get excited about going for walks. Joey is gated in the laundry room with our IG’s when we are gone and he loves to burrow under the covers in our bed at night. He interacts well with our Iggies and Greyhounds.Joey loves to back up to your leg and rub his butt against you . . . very cute! He’s just plain infectious! Everyone he meets becomes an instant friend to him.
