Rover is a handsome 10 month old male who is looking for that special someone to love. He is a white feathered puppy with faint shading on his tail and under his eyes. He was rescued from the government in Doha, Qatar, where he was left in cat traps with his 5 littermates in the hot sun with no shade or water, presumably to be destroyed. Luckily for him he was rescued by Dogs in Doha and sent here to the States to find his forever home. Rover had some socialization issues when he came over here, and is working one on one with a trainer to overcome his shyness. He is making slow, but very steady progress. He is still a little fearful of men, but otherwise is affectionate and very playful. He gets along with large and small dogs, and shows no interest in indoor cats. He loves to run and play with the other dogs and his toys. He is crate trained and will go stand by the door when he wants to go outside. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He walks well on a leash, but it still very curious when out on his walks. Rover would do well in an active family with another dog for companionship. He is being fostered in San Antonio.

This cute rough-coated blonde Lurcher with fuzzy tan ears and eyelashes to match is learning quickly what it means to be a part of a family. Nalena, a 1.5 year old female, is calm, quiet and inquisitive without being shy or timid. Right now she is taking medications for ehrlichia, a tick-born disease, and spends a lot of time resting on a comfy bed. When she is feeling her best she plays gently with stuffy toys, wanders and sniffs at things and explores outside when not enjoying the warmth of a bed in the sunshine. A six-foot privacy fence is a must for this lady to be safe. And as with all sight hounds she will always need to be on leash when walked or exercised in an area that is not fenced and caution should always be taken when opening outside doors. She has the catlike traits of squeezing through very small openings because she is so small and sort of oozes herself up on things rather than jumping. Nalena is not cat safe.

Nalena has caught on quickly that human hands are good for petting, hugging, scratching and handing out treats. She is learning what the words “come,” “treat time,” and “no” means and will seek you out when you go to another room and are gone for a while. She doesn’t shy away from new people in the house as long as they don’t approach her quickly and loudly. After proper introductions she retreats to a bed and watches as if she is a part of the conversation. Always a lady, she often sits or lies with her front legs daintily crossed at the ankles.

She has only had a couple of accidents in the house and that was because her foster humans didn’t pick up on her cues to go out after eating. Learning to use the doggie door is the next challenge. Speaking of eating, she is a slow eater and may need some human help keeping other dogs away from her food until she is finished.

At night she sleeps on her own bed in the bedroom and wakes up slowly in the mornings with stretches and vocal yawns of hello. She probably needs to be isolated to a small area or a crate when the humans are gone since she get curious and likes to explore and collect. She does well when left alone in one room with the other dogs for several hours when the humans leave. Nalena would probably do better with another dog around as a friend and teacher. She considers her home her castle and gently “boofs” when people, other dogs or squirrels come into her extended space on the other side of the front window.

Bianca is a beautiful, confident, affectionate, petite, smooth desert breed Saluki. She is a gorgeous creamy white with some tips of golden tan around her ears and neck. Hence we call her, Princess Doha Bianca. She is house trained. She is also fully vetted; spayed and all her shots are up to date. Bianca is petite at only 34 lbs. She is very athletic so a 6 foot fence is an absolute must and no trees, (yes, she climbs trees) and yard supervision to keep her safe from herself. She craves attention and love from her peeps and is super sweet. Bianca requires at least three times a week a good run in a secure area or long walk. Bianca is approximately 1.5 years old, so she loves toys and playing. She has a lot of energy, but settles in nicely when in the house. Crates like a gem and also walks well on a leash, but if she she sees something of interest she does have a high prey drive. Princess Bianca from Doha dreams of her very own forever home. She would most likely be more content with someone that is not away from home working a full time job. She is currently enjoying life in a pack of varied sized Sighthounds in San Antonio waiting for dreams to come true.

Kennedy is an energetic 10 month old pure white feathered Saluki from Doha, Quatar. He and Rover are littermates. They were rounded up by the government with their 4 other littermates and left in cat traps in the hot sun with no shade or water. Fortunately they were rescued and sent to the States to find their forever homes. Kennedy is a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time and he will become your best friend. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, crate trained and will go to the door when he needs to go outside. He is working on his leash skills, but still wants to investigate along the way. He is being fostered in the San Antonio area with large and small dogs and gets along well with both. He avoids the indoor cats, but does show interest in cats outdoors. He loves to run and to play with toys. Tug of war with the other dogs is a favorite game.
Kennedy will do well with an active family who have another energetic dog. He is loving and affectionate when he gets used to people and will make a wonderful addition to some lucky family.

Oona is a beautiful Middle Eastern Smooth Coat Saluki. After a 16.5 hour flight from Doha Qatar, Oona arrived in Texas January 29th. We gave her a few minutes to stretch her legs, take care of business and some kibble before we got her settled down for the 4-hr road trip to Dallas. She has settled into a pack of 5 greyhounds and an Australian Sheppard. She was more than a little concerned about the big guys for the first few days, but I’m guessing she’s not been in a pack environment and they are more than twice her size in many ways. After a few days she mixes and mingles with them and plays tug-a-war with the youngest grey (since she can’t convince the Aussie to play with her). She’s a snuggle bug and worms her way onto the sofa between me and one of the hounds whenever the opportunity. Oona arrived in very good shape and was spayed on 2/10 and she’s recovering nicely and is now ready to find a loving family of her own. Please email iggygal67@yahoo.com to receive a ME Saluki Adoption Application.

Seeking Family or Single Person to spend long afternoons lounging on the couch, playing with toys in the floor, snuggling up to at night. Must be tolorant of potty issues, will use pee pads on occasion but aim is a little off. You’ll find my devotion endearing, preferring to be as close to you as I can and please, no crating unless feeding, this 11 year old female does not enjoy being treated like a wild savage beast. I play well with other IG’s often surprising them with my zest and zeal. When ready to play or eat, I become quite the talker!
You’ll find me loving, devoted, big eyed, talkative and spirited. My name is Tella…Donna Tella.

Rocket’s the guy! Don’t let the name fool you, Rocket’s speed is more like Easy Rider than Tom Cruise but when you look into those deep dark eyes, and slide your hanbd across his soft skin, you’ll fall instantly in love. A love that will be returned twofold to you.
Remember Rocket when you curl up tonight ALONE watching tv, nibbling on popcorn and reaching for that special cuddle buddy who’se not there. Rocket’s ready and willing to take that place by your side.

Louie has been such a treat. He came to Lubbock scared and confused. He needed lots of work. He was used to living with a belly band. He hasn’t had to use the belly band since he arrived here. And good news, he hasn’t needed the belly band. He is a boy. He is a young boy. He had to do some sniffing around at first, but he has learned the rules. This guy has three modes. “Can we eat?” “Can we play?” “When you are done doing whatever it is you are doing, can we play?” Louie is a boy in action. He likes long walks and long play sessions. He has funny ways of getting your attention. He’ll snicker and bark and whine and flinch at you. He is quite the attention monger. He still has some uncertainty. He has been here a month from, and you just never know where these little guys come from. He is still hesitant to let us just walk up and pick him up. He has two responses, “am I in trouble” and “oh, are we playing? Catch me then!” He may just be smarter than I am and knows how to train me to give him treats. I think he just operates with a lot of concern. Louie loves being outside on pleasant days. He loves going and visiting his friends and chasing around the backyard. He is very much social with other dogs. He has had much experience with familiar and strange dogs. He shies away but stays approachable. He is more comfortable around new dogs than he is around new people. He stays shy around new people. Louie is good around the kids. He loves a little boy that’ll chase him around the yard. He stays hidden when the house is full of people. He usually opts to hang out in his kennel at those times. He is kennel trained. When we leave the house he stays in his kennel. After long periods he may potty in his kennel, but that is very much manageable. I love having Louie here. He is so full of energy that every moment is a treat. His future forever home will be receiving a great bundle of joy.

Luna (6 year old female) and Loki (5 year old male) came into rescue as a result of a divorce. They originally came from a breeder and have been together for about 5 years. My wish for them is that they can be adopted together. Their requirements are pretty simple . . . a couch, a lap, a throw, and your bed at night! They are accustomed to being crated together but we gate them in our laundry room with our IG’s when we are gone. They are both very affectionate (and cute as can be) and always close by. Loki will put his face close to yours so you can kiss him (very endearing)! They get along well with our Italian Greyhounds and although Loki was afraid of the Greyhounds at first, he is now fine with large dogs. They are improving on leash and seem to love their walks! They are both good eaters and about 95% housebroken. These two are some of the happiest and most loving IG’s you will find and will be your constant companions. Won’t you open up your home and heart to them? You won’t be sorry!
